I always tell my co-patients at the cancer support group that the results of tests are just on paper. It’s not on my body. There is hope! We will get well! And yet, when I am alone and in pain, I shed tears of hopelessness. I sometimes tell myself to give up the fight, to just rest in peace and stop all the tiring medical procedures.
