The MDMEC's 4th Invitational Golf Tournament was successfully held last 26 April 2009 at the Veterans Golf Club, Diliman, Quezon City.  The theme of this year's tournament is "ONE DREAM. . .ONE DESIRE. . .ONE COMMUNITY CENTER.  This is so because part of the proceeds of the tournament would be added to the seed money that will be used to realize the community's dream – to have its own community center.

Unlike the inclement weather of the previous days, the community was blessed with bright and sunny weather on the tournament day itself.  As early as 5:30 am, the first player, Mike Sabado, registered for the game.  A total of fifty one (51) players joined this year's tournament.  We saw familiar faces and we  also noticed several new ones.  If a loyalty award would be given to those regular players of the MDMEC golf tournament, several players would receive an award.  We've also seen some players coming from other marriage encounter communities.  It means that MDEMC golf tournament had not only found its own regular supporters, it is also gaining wide support.

Many players and other members of the community stayed up to the last part of the awarding ceremony (some even stayed longer after the ceremony was over).  Celebration and camaraderie can be felt in the air.  The members of the community have become more comfortable in entertaining and mingling with the players and supporters.  After three tournaments, the community definitely learned some lessons.  And while the players were trying to hit the balls in the golf course, workers and spectators played mini bingo social prepared by the Temporalities Ministry and Traditional and Special Events Ministry.  It was fun seeing the winners appreciating even the smallest prize of the bingo social.  For them, it was not the prize that matters, it was the fun playing the game and bonding time with their brothers and sisters.  The original winners of the grand prize of the bingo social (Frankie Liezel Godalle) even donated back their prize (what a generous heart!) just to make the game a little bit longer.

The Golf Tournament Committee, composed of the indefatigable and the fun-loving Class 149, led by their shepherd, Bro. Lorenz and Sis Weng Tabilog, did it again!  This year they were ably supported by the Temporalities Ministry and the Traditional and Special Events Ministry.
