The Mater Dei MEC has revived its Shepherds’ Forum with a series of topics to tackle for the year. Its first session was held last November 29, 2010 and for its starter topic, the MLA and RTDM chose “Getting to Know You” as a way of introduction to get to know each other with the growing number of Shepherds we already have.

In February 13, 2011 the forum was followed up with the topic : “Getting to Love You”. A Pre-Valentine get-together of fifteen couples at the NAPOCOR canteen, It started with the opening prayer by Couple Demet Rose Araniego. This was followed by the participants’ sharing on how love strengthened their relationship as a couple through the years. Love then filled the air and the better way to capture it was the ceremonial offering of fresh roses by the husbands to their respective spouses. That moment became irresistible for joyous dancings and reminiscent serenading for love songs.

Earlier on, the Shepherds have established their grouping based on neighborhood locality. Hence, whenever our organizers, MLA Head Couple Migo Len Vargas and CIC Felix Norly Lachica will call for coordination, the groupings easily act on. This time the Quezon City Shepherds group prepared the snacks and spiced it up with a contest on Love Song Singing Contest. The Bulacan-Caloocan Shepherds proved unbeatable with Shepherds Edwin Richie Rebollido’s and Leo Meddy Bugarin’s old-fashioned MP3 repertoire. Then after, the Bulacan – Caloocan group were privileged to indulge in a pack of chocolates donated by Head couple Migo Len Vargas as a prize – for their voices, for the tunes, for the songs’ era that helped spread the sweetness for the day.

On the finale, the group sang the ME theme song Gaano Kita Kamahal , of course with the traditional PABUENAS and a closing prayer led by MLA Chair Couple Ben Letty Bernardo.

The next of the Series of the Shepherds’ Forum will be on June 19, 2011. Marriage Life Apostolate looks forward to the day it will once again gather the Shepherds for the topic: “Getting to Appreciate You”.
