The Board of Trustees, as an act of recognition and appreciation, created a Council of Founding Elders which will be composed of the three founders of MDMEC who are in the Philippines namely: Romy Remy Lagman, Vigie Nelly Ventura and Lony Rhodora Bohol.  One of the founding Elders, Sonia Zolina, widow of Bro Rey, now resides in Canada.

The Council shall serve as the guardian of MDMEC's vision and mission. They shall be the primary source of information as regards the community’s history and its traditions.  As the workers of the community are trying to strengthen their wings for them to be able to fly and reach as many souls and relationships as possible, the Council of Elders will ensure that the community will remain rooted to the very purpose of its creation and existence. 

The creation of the Council also symbolizes our recognition and appreciation of the couples who founded MDMEC, the community which made a big difference in our lives as individuals, as couples, as families and as a community.

The Council was formally introduced to the membership during the installation of the new set of workers on 3 July 2009.  In that ceremony, the members of the Council were requested to share some of their thoughts.  And in their messages, we cannot help but notice that each of them had their own unique and distinct style, but all of them possess the wisdom that only a good relationship with the Lord and experience in handling a community could give.

With the creation of the Council of Founding Elders, we feel that MDMEC is now complete.  And is it a coincidence that it happened when the effort of the whole community is geared towards the building of its own community center?  Maybe not!
