One of the most meaningful activities that we have directed our attention to this time of the year is the long awaited opportunity of the community to share something of value for the elderly, the orphans and the victims of the devastation wrought by the recent typhoon in the Bicol Region. The objective is to somehow alleviate their lonely plight and keep the elderly company in order to lessen their boredom and longingness for their loved ones.
Our beneficiaries were the orphans under the care of Rev. Fr. Roger Cruz, a “Bahay Ampunan” in Area H, Phase II, Brgy. San Rafael, San Jose del Monte, Sapang Palay, Bulacan, the elderly at the Tahanan ni Maria, and the homesless displaced families in the barangay of Fr. Pablo Encinas, OP in Bicol.
Our Outreach Apostolate (OrA) headed by the Mon Noemi Giron together with the OrA staff and couples from Gen.T. de Leon took the lead for this activity.
The presence of Mater Dei M.E. Community through the representation of our Outreach Apostolate is God’s way of reminding our brothers and sisters and all of us, for that matter, that God is ever-present in the lives of everyone. He uses every person on earth to be the channel of His love and compassion.
To God be the glory!!!
