The MDMEC Christmas Party  says  ALOHA on its  Christmas Encounter held last December 29, 2009 at the North Greenhills Club House. Tagged as “Masaya kapag Tayo ay Sama-Sama” the community chose Hawaiian as motif to color the night. 

By tradition, our gathering started with a Holy Mass led by our Spiritual Adviser, Fr Domie Guzman.  As it was the last gathering for the year, Fr. Domie said, it is a time for   Thanksgiving for  a very fruitful 2009  as he also prayed for a continuous blessing for the incoming year.   Around 197 couples were present to grace the occasion. 

After the mass, the wholesome trio, Nelson  Morales, Tony Pizarro and Bong Salvador carried on the entertainment portion.  SADERs Lep Sumera, Ram-ram Gloria, Jenny Jimenez  started off with their Christmas Carols.  Then there were parlour games  for all ages and raffle draws came in between.

For that evening, our BOT Pres. Couple Sam Lulou Asia also aptly took the opportunity to hand in the Plaques of Appreciation to our affiliates,  Gen. T de Leon Ugnayan Group, San Jose Prayer Group and The Holy Mother of God M.E. Community.  They have unselfishly shared their time and  talents in the recently concluded “As Grains of Wheat Concert” spearheaded by our Music Ministry .

The highlight of the evening came with special dance presentations. A “Nobody. Nobody, But You” dance medley was hilariously  performed by  Tes Capiral, Sherwin Esguerra,  Joy Geronimo, Mylene Pineda , Lhen Roxas, and Lisa Salisi of the  Spiritual Growth  Apostolate (SGA) together with Connie Armas, Carmen Inocencio and  Jojie Guballa  of the Music Ministry . 

Then came the Green Team exhibition number of a Hawaiian medley.  The Green Grass-skirted dancers who brought the house down were Pris Vicky Contreras, Rey Let Varilla and Ryck Cres  de Paz.   

With the Night’s Hawaaian theme,  the contenders for the Couple of the Night Award were shortlisted to Rommel Josephine Acierto and Jojo Chris Roxas.  By popular vote, Jojo Chris Roxas of ME Class 241,  wearing a matched  orange floral clothing piece,  emerged as the Couple of the Night.  The couple  will enjoy a Spa treatment as their  prize.    

Surely, everyone  had  fun as the dance floor was always full for the line dance movements  of “Achy Breaky Heart” and the “ Nobody Nobody  But You”.  During  that particular moment, Danny Alegria of Class 258 was spotted as the Best Dancer!.
