The San Jose del Monte Prayer Group celebrated its 10th year anniversary and Turn-Over Ceremony last Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the residence of  Mon Silay Baluyot. 

The highlight of the program was the Turn-Over Ceremony for Out-Going Head Servant Serg Salyn Sarmiento to Incoming Head Servant Sonny Babes Mayo.  The Mater Dei Elder who came to grace the affair gave their respective inspirational messages.  Among them were BOTs Marian Co and Demet Rose Araniego, Shepherds Roc Bulacan, Chok Lulu Aytona, Bong Nene Gonzales, Noni Baby Pascual, Jojie Fe Guballa and Sis. Connie Armas. 

It was also an opportune time to hand over the Plaque of Appreciation to the San Jose del Monte Prayer Group for their participation in the Fund-raising Concert of the MDMEC “As Grains of Wheat”.   Both Past and Present Head Servants were present to receive the Plaque from BOT Marian Co. 

Sis Salyn Sarmiento acknowledged the Plaque by saying  “This is like receiving an award because it bears all the sacrifices, joys and funny experiences at the time we were preparing for the concert.  This Plaque certainly gives so much meaning to us!”. 

The same sentiment was followed thru by Sis Fe Guballa, Head Couple of the Music Ministry,  when she said, “Kung papaano kami lumapit sa inyo nuon at humingi ng tulong at hindi kayo nag atubili ipag kaloob sa amin, ngayon naman po kami ang lumalapit sa inyong muli upang magpasalamat.”

Indeed the atmosphere was filled with oneness.  We felt how our Lambs carried on the Mater Dei Mission and as their Shepherds  we can’t deny,  they have gone a long way.  The San Jose del Monte Prayer Group is cohesively moving on! 

The spice for the night came up with presentations in a form of a contest from the different clusters.   The MDMEC Elders played the Panel of Judges with Bro. Roc Bulacan as Chairman. 

To the delight of the audience, the following emerged as winners: 

First Prize - Lawang Pare Cluster with Divine Gardose, Babes Mayo and Salyn Sarmiento

Second Prize - Area F with Lita Gavino, Cathy Gavino and Ely Advincula

Third Prize - Area D with Silay Baluyot, Imelda Baarde, Rosalie Cruz, Jean Padua, and Sally Lacson
