I am your servant/ Lord Jesus Christ/ because you called me/ and led me to believe/ and showed me the work you wanted me to do.// With all your servants and friends in the Church,/ I am called to spread your Good News and love.// Sometimes/ I plant the seed,/ and sometimes I water the young plant,/ but it is your Father in heaven/ who gives life to the plant/ and makes it grow;// and so,/ the Word planted and tended by human effort,/ will bear abundant fruit/ in the lives of those we serve,/ and God will reward us for what we do.//

Help me and all my fellow-workers/ to remain united with you,/ working together,/ as partners in your Father’s field,/ among the people to whom He sends us.// Let our work be founded on You,/ Lord Jesus Christ,/ like a house built on strong foundations.// Help us to pray and work/ so that those we serve/ may become temples of God,/ your Father,/ with your Holy Spirit living in them.//

Help us not to be jealous of others who work for you.// Help us not to quarrel with one another,/ or to seek after the wisdom of this world/ which is nonsense in the sight of your Father.//

Help us never to boast about our success,/ for when we work for you,/ Lord Jesus,/ everything belongs to us:// everything in this world and the next,/ everything in life and in death,/ in the present and in the future -// all belong to us,/ not because of our own efforts/ but because we belong to you,/ Lord Jesus,/ and You belong to God,/ united with Him/ in the unity of the Spirit/ for ever and ever./ AMEN.//
