As the grains of wheat are being offered at the altar of the Lord, the whole community asked the Lord to bless its forthcoming concert entitled "AS THE GRAINS OF WHEAT".  The dream of having our own community center gave birth to this project, a concert for a cause, to be held on September 27, 2009, 7:30 pm, at Philiamlife Auditorium.

Few years back, our elders dreamed of putting up a retreat house for the community.  In fact, a group of investors mostly composed of the elders of MDMEC already purchased a lot in Amadeo, Cavite for this purpose.  But as in any other plan, there are things that are not meant to happen.  The project did not push through.  The investors decided to sell the lot and donated part of the proceeds (P500,000.00) to MDMEC.

Last year, in a workers meeting and through the inspiration of Fr. Domie Duzman, the Spiritual Director of MDMEC, the Board of Trustees dreamed of putting up a community center which will house the activities of the community.  Through a Board Resolution, the P500,000 was earmarked as a seed money for the project.  In that resolution, part of the proceeds of the previous fund raisings of MDMEC (raffle and golf tournament) in the amount of P200,000.00 was also set aside.  P700,000.00 is surely a good start, but for our community center to rise, we definitely need a community effort.

The concert for a cause was formally launched on 5 June 2009.  Before the mass, the Music Ministry distributed a bookmark to all members.  The bookmark was decorated by a "UHAY".  The UHAY has a deeper meaning than a decoration.  It symbolizes each member of the community.  Gaano ba aabutin ang butil na hawak ng isang uhay?  Maaring halos wala.  Pero kapag pinagsama sama ang mga uhay, maraming butil ang makukuha, maraming harina ang magagawa, na maaaring gamitin sa paggawa ng tinapay.  We, members of MDMEC are like the UHAY.  On our own, our contribution might not make a big difference in building our community center.  But our united efforts could do wonders in achieving our goal.
