We are 18 years old!

Our TV Mass Committee became so inspired by the thought that the community is turning eighteen this March 2009 that it sought the approval of our Board of Trustees for its revival for the sole purpose of airing our anniversary Mass on television.

The telephone wires started burning immediately after our Board agreed to the request of the  committee. Fr. Domie Guzman, SSP our Spiritual Adviser, was the first to be contacted in order to preside in the Mass and former servant-leaders were also invited to be lectors and offerors.  Possible donors and advertisers were listed down and regular announcements in the weekly Prayer Gathering were made in order to gather as many attendees for the Mass.

The venue was set.  The Marketing Director of The Garden of the Divine Word at the Christ the King Mission Seminary on E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave., Quezon City offered the place for the taping of the Mass in the morning of March 21, 2009, three days before the feast of the Solemnity of the Annunciation.  What gave more meaning to the occasion is not because the venue was offered to the committee for free but it was because the altar where the Mass would be celebrated is at the foot of the miraculous image of the Our Lady of the Annunciation – the centerpiece of The Garden of the Divine Word and also the patroness of our community. The ambiance of the place is so conducive to a quiet yet exultant celebration of a special occasion.  Up to the last minute, major changes and replacements were made in place of those who have confirmed their attendance but couldn’t for urgent reasons.

Finally, at 9:OO AM of March 22, 2009 on IBC-13 the Mass commemorating the 18th year of our community was aired. Fr. Bel San Luis, SVD, producer of the Family TV Mass was the presider, the Special Ministers of the Eucharist were Joey Petrache, Oggie Mercado, Demet Ledesma, and two from the St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Santiago Gregorio and Luis Navarro.  Jon Janet Sabido, Jose Vargas, Vice President Internal of the Senior Citizens Assn. of District IV (Q.C) and our President Couple, Samie Lulou Asia, served as lectors. Our very reliable and telegenic choir led by organist-trainor Fe Guballa provided the songs for the liturgy.  M.E. Class 149 came in full force with their shepherd, Director Couple Lorenz Weng Tabilog, for they too are celebrating their 11th year as an M.E. class in the community this month of March. Representatives from the Q.C. Senior Citizens Association, Blessed Sacrament M.E. Community, Regina Coeli Educational Foundation Center of Llano, and many others came to participate in the Mass. Senior members of the community like Ed Cora Depano and Willie Montales, without Rose who got sick, came to participate too.  Our Board of Directors and some head couples and chaircouples of Ministries took pleasure in staying after the Mass for photo sessions at the grotto.  Simple snacks of cup cakes and water were served to the attendees after the Mass as a gesture of appreciation of our TV Mass Committee.

Thus, our offering of thanksgiving to God our Father was accomplished through the intercession of Mary, Mater Dei.

We thank the members of the TV Mass Committee for their initiatives and their display of genuine love and care for our Community.
