Saturday morning , March 19, 2011. As early as 5:30 am , members of the Mater Dei Marriage Encounter Community have already assembled at 28th avenue of the Global City. Clod in Blue T-shirts with Runner’s identity number, members, some with their children, registered for the 2.5 or 5 km. Children below 10 years of age were grouped in a different category and running lane.

At exactly 6 am the Start Whistle was heard with the Green Banner being waved up. Timers started tricking …. At a registered time of 46 minutes, Mater Dei ME Community enlister Gerald Lorenz Maandal finished as Second Placer for the 5- Km Run for the male division! Of course, Gerald is the son of Shepherd Dante Marife Maandal of Class 184.

The Fun Run was launched by the Marriage Encounter Foundation of the Philippines (MEFP) to create a Disaster Relief Fund for its constituency. Spearheaded by the incumbent President Couple, Roberto Tinnette Aventajado, the project registered a successful participation and advertising sponsors.

Our very own , Ed Cora Depano were visibly active and in their capacity as Vice President Couple of the MEFP awarded the 2.5 km run winners of the male category.

Interestingly, all our MDMEC enlisted runners reached the finish line and received their certificates. Yet, Bro. Lony Bohol took another 1 1/2 round of sweat-letting exercise. Running Time: 9:07am. Temperature: 32degrees centigrade. In his pace, he found the essence of a Fun Run!
