SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

1.            MEETING WITH MLA:  SAsia acknowledged the presence of the MLA Head Couple and Chaircouple as well as Ryck Cres de Paz, shepherd couple of the October MEW sponsoring class.  
           
              HC RVenezuela reported on the following:

1.1.      No shepherds for October and November 2007 – RVenezuela stated that a couple is willing to be appointed as shepherd for October but their tenure with the community is less than two (2) years.

The Board replied that under our by-laws, a couple should have been with the community for at least two (2) years before they could handle/ shepherd a class. The Board decided that the BOTs and MLA should continue to look for a qualified couple until the class’ first deepening.

1.2.      Only seven (7) candidates (coming from the sponsoring class) have been confirmed to join the MEW of 12-14 October.

1.3       Ecclesial Teams (Team Couples/Team Priest) for the 2008 MEWeekends.  The Board approved the list submitted and the Secretary shall notify all concerned Team Couples of their respective schedule.

2.         The Board approved that paid advertisements in the Updates should be given space in Mater Dei’s website, with no additional charge.   

3.         MEFP Festival of Songs – forty (40) additional tickets were given to MDMEC.  The BOTs were given two tickets each for the event which is scheduled on November17, 2007, 4PM at the ULTRA.

1.            Treasurer’s Report:

2.            ‘BALIK’ MATER DEI  -    The Board chose “Keeping the Fires Burning” as the name of the committee which shall be in charge of coming out with ideas and suggestions which are geared towards maintaining members’ interest in the community 

3.         TV MASS - The Board received a written request for reconsideration from LRBohol and FMSantos, who are representing the TV Mass Committee.  The letter is requesting for MDMECs continuance of its co-sponsorship of the Healing Eucharist. In response, the Board approved the request with the following conditions:

• MDMEC’s TV co-sponsorship shall be extended for a period of six (6)  months from October 2007 or until April 2008, subject to review
   thereafter;

• MDMEC should not incur any deficit for the duration of the              sponsorship period;

• TV Mass Committee shall focus its solicitation from ‘outside’

                         resources/sponsors.

• TV Mass Committee shall submit to the Board the list of

                         organizations/communities that will co-sponsor with MDMEC
                         on a regular basis.

4.         MEFP Directory - MEFP Board is requesting MDMEC for submission of requirements/information  for the MEFP Directory.  SAsia informed the board that the printed Community Primer has already been delivered by SACariaga and copies of the same shall be given to graduates of the MEWeekend starting November 2008. SAsia stated that the Community Primer is a good source of the information requested by MEFP. LEGarcia volunteered to prepare/collate the data requested by MEFP.

5.         M.E.W Financial Report Form - EGarcia was requested to prepare the standard format of M.E.W. Financial Report .
